The NHS Oversight Framework Patient and Community Engagement Indicator

Under the National Health Service Act 2006 (later amended by the Health and Social Care Act 2012), CCGs have a statutory duty to involve the public in commissioning (section 14Z2). Click here to see the statutory guidance for ccgs and nhs england

Annually NHS England assesses how well each CCG has done in discharging its public involvement duty (section 14Z2), in 2019/20 the eight CCGs made their first collective submission as Kent and Medway and were all awarded a rag rating of Green with 11 points. Please see the letters confirming this below.

Mental Health Investment Standard (MHIS)

Below  you will also find documents showing how each of the previous clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in Kent and Medway met the Mental Health Investment Standard.

A requirement from NHS England and NHS Improvement, all clinical commissioning groups must demonstrate how their investment in mental health services for the year 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019 increased at a faster rate than their overall programme funding.

Each CCG is required to publish a statement about whether they have met their obligations to the MHIS.

The statements for the individual Kent and Medway CCGs are provided below, together with independent assurance reports produced in connection with each CCG’s statement for the year ending 31 March 2019.

Beneath these reports are the independent reviews into our investment in mental health services in 2019/2020 which all confirm we hit the spending target for the year.
