As NHS Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group was formally established during our Covid-19 pandemic response, we have looked to technology to help engage and inform patients and members of the public.
We have introduced a series of online public events which provide an opportunity for anyone interested in health to ‘virtually’ meet members of our Governing Body via Microsoft Teams.
These sessions are an opportunity to ask questions and hear about the different roles and responsibilities of the governing body members, as well as the CCG’s plans.
We will do our best to make sure questions are answered during the live meetings but if we are unable to provide an answer on the day, we will add a response to the meeting questions and answers summary published after the events.
If you are not able to join the meeting but would like to ask a question, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 12noon the day before the meeting.
Chaired by Cathy Finnis, our lay member for patient and public engagement. The meeting covered:
- How public money is spent on health care services - Ivor Duffy, Chief Finance Officer
- How we look at performance and the quality of care across health care - Ivor Duffy, Chief Finance Officer
- How the CCG makes sure that appropriate risk and assurance systems are in place - Alistair Smith, Independent Lay Member for Governance and Audit and Deputy CCG Chair.
Our first virtual Meet the Governing Body event. Cathy Finnis, our lay-member for patient and public engagement led the meeting and Wilf Williams, Accountable Officer joined to explain the work of the CCG and answer questions.
