Applications open for independent chair of new integrated care system (ICS)

5 August 2021

Do you have the experience to reshape health and social care in Kent and Medway?

The NHS in Kent and Medway is looking to appoint a dynamic and collaborative leader to change the way health and social care services are delivered in future.

Applications are now invited for the role of independent chair for Kent and Medway Integrated Care System (ICS), a partnership of health and care organisations, local government and the voluntary sector.

Integrated care systems aim to improve population health, tackle health inequalities and help the NHS support broader social and economic development.

Subject to approval of the Health and Care Bill, ICSs will take on statutory form from April 2022. There are 42 ICSs across England, including Kent and Medway, each with a chair who will lead a unitary board.

The role requires a time commitment of up to three days-a-week. Appointments will be approved by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.

Applications close at 11:59pm on Tuesday, 17 August 2021.
