General Practice appointments in November

11 January 2022

The latest General Practice appointment figures show that 908,737 appointments were carried out in Kent and Medway in November 2021 This is in addition to GP teams giving over 200,000 vaccinations / boosters in the same month.

Data released from NHS England shows that over half a million face-to-face and home visits were undertaken, showing again that General Practice is very much open for business and very busy.

Kent and Medway practices carried out nearly 230,000 more appointments when compared to the same month before the pandemic (November 2019) when 679,538 were undertaken.

There was a slight decrease in the numbers of people not attending their appointments, with 54,379 appointments not attended in November. We would urge anyone who can no longer attend any appointment (be it with their GP, a vaccination appointment or a hospital appointment) to please cancel them. This allows the NHS to use the time to see other patients in need.
