Information for patients of St Mary’s Island Surgery and Pentagon Surgery, Chatham

28 October 2021

Please be aware further technical work will be carried out at St Mary’s Island and Pentagon surgeries from tomorrow (Friday, 29 October) so all patient records can be securely transferred to the new provider by Tuesday, 2 November.

This means from 12noon tomorrow (Friday, 29 October), patients at these surgeries will be unable to access normal services or order repeat prescriptions during this short period of time.

We expect access to services to be restored after 12noon on Tuesday, 2 November and are putting measures in place to support patients during the transitional period. We apologise for any inconvenience while this essential work takes place.

Online services and apps

Patients will temporarily be unable to access online services via their chosen app, from Friday, 29 October. If you use the NHS app, you should be able to access services from Monday, 8 November.

If you use third party GP apps, you will need to be set up with a new link key once your records have transferred. This is a manual task; the fastest way to resume online access is to download the NHS app on or after Monday, 8 November. This will link you to your new surgery and verify your identity without the need for additional steps.

If you do want to continue using any app other than the NHS app, this may cause further delay in you being able to regain access to online services.

Repeat medications

If you would normally order repeat medications between Friday, 29 October and Tuesday, 2 November, please do so via your local pharmacy if this service is available, or ask for an emergency supply. If you can, please order via your current surgery before Friday, 29 October.

GP appointments

If you need an urgent GP appointment on Friday, 29 October, please continue to call your current GP provider.

On Monday, 1 November, services will transfer to the new provider. Maritime Health will not have access to clinical systems or be able to deliver routine care due to continued technical work related transferring your medical records, which is scheduled to finish by lunchtime on Tuesday, 2 November. Please only contact your surgery on Monday, 1 November if you have an urgent medical need.
