Open letter: Thank you for two million Covid jabs

25 June 2021

We would like to send thanks to everybody supporting the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine and continuing battle against this devastating virus.

Our fight against Covid-19 is far from over but, as you read this letter, we are more than two million jabs towards helping put this pandemic behind us.

Teams of clinicians, administrative staff and volunteers have been working tirelessly for months to protect the people of Kent and Medway.

Whether that’s getting the vaccine to the right place, giving jabs in vaccination centres, or just making sure people know where to go for a vaccine.

If you are part of those vaccination teams or someone who has booked or had their vaccine, we would like to thank you for:

  • saving lives
  • reducing serious illness
  • helping fewer Covid-patients need hospital care
  • cutting the risk of developing long-term ill health, if you have Covid-19.

#GrabAJab

Every single jab brings us one step closer to beating this virus, so if you haven’t yet had a Covid-19 vaccination, please book or #GrabAJab as soon as you can.

Everyone aged over 18 is now eligible. You can find out the latest information about booking and local vaccination sites at www.kentandmedwayccg.nhs.uk/covid19vaccine

Thank you once again to everyone who has got us to this point and for your continuing support.

Hands. Face. Space. Fresh Air.

While the jab offers protection against developing serious illness, to stop the spread, it’s vital we all continue to practise Hands. Face. Space. Fresh Air.

Keep regularly testing, so we can put this pandemic in the past and keep it there.

Thank you for your continued support.

How to join us in saying thank you for two million jabs in Kent and Medway

We would like to invite you to join us in saying thank you to everyone who has helped Kent and Medway reach the two million Covid-19 vaccines’ milestone.

Thank you card

We’ve created a thank you card to help you do this by taking a selfie of yourself or a photo of you and your family, work colleagues, sports team mates with a print out of the card and then either posting the photo on your social media using the hashtags #GrabAJab and tagging @KMCCG, @NHSKentMedway on Instagram.

Or you can send your photo to us at kmccg.comms@nhs.net and we’ll post it on our social media.

There’s a version to colour in too, if you’d like to get the kids involved.

Thank you card to colour in

Alternatively, you could post on social media (or send to kmccg.comms@nhs.net) a 10-second video clip of you or your family/group saying: “Thank you for the two million jabs Kent and Medway”, again including the hashtag #GrabAJab and tagging @KMCCG in your post,  @NHSKentMedway on Instagram.

We look forward to seeing your photos and videos.

You can download thank you cards to use in your photos and videos from the files below.
